The mission of the Mid-Lothian Mines & Rail Roads Foundation is to provide educational, cultural and recreational opportunities through the preservation, reconstruction and interpretation of the historic coal mining and railroad sites in and around the Village of Midlothian. Initially, the focus will be on the existing Mid-Lothian Mines Park, which has been donated to the County of Chesterfield.

The Foundation has been chartered in Virginia as a non-stock corporation and is now authorized to operate under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The operations of the Foundation will be controlled by its officers and directors.

The Bylaws of the Foundation will set the date of the annual directors’ meeting. The directors may take actions by meeting or by unanimous written consent.
Committees will be formed by the Foundation to enlist volunteers in the aggressive pursuit of our mission.
